Not necessarily! Sometimes, what we perceive as dislike is actually just a strong reaction to someone's personality or actions. Reflect on *why* you disliked them and if those reasons are still valid before diving in headfirst.

Look for signs of mutual respect or admiration beneath the surface. Is there playful teasing or genuine curiosity about each other? If the 'tension' is consistently negative, disrespectful, or hurtful, it's probably just animosity and not worth pursuing.

One big pitfall is idealizing the person or the relationship because of the dramatic shift. Make sure you're seeing them (and yourself) clearly, and that you're both willing to communicate openly and honestly about past issues and future expectations. Don't let the 'trope' blind you to real-life compatibility.
